Spring Forward and Check Your Smoke Alarms

Spring Forward

Daylight Savings is beginning March 14th, so remember to set your clocks 1 hour forward Saturday night before you go to bed. As you “Spring Forward” it’s a good time to check your smoke alarms. Check each alarm’s batteries and test them monthly to make sure they are working.

Smoke alarms with non-replaceable 10-year batteries are designed to remain effective for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, warning that the battery is low, replace the entire smoke alarm right away. For smoke alarm tips, visit the VCFD Smoke Alarms page.
